The North Texas Battle Group has general membership meetings in January to elect club officers, and in December to set goals for the coming year. In addition, two quarterly general meetings are held. At these meetings, members show off their progress on their latest ship construction and refit projects, help and advice is freely given, battle plans finalized, and other miscellaneous business is discussed. In addition, several construction/repair sessions are scheduled throughout the year, and the Board of Admiralty meets monthly. Guests are welcome at all North Texas Battle Group meetings and other events. Refer to Battle Stations for the next event date, time, and location.
Battles are the third Sunday of month, weather permitting. Setup usually starts at 9:00 AM, with the actual commencement of live fire at 11:00 AM and running until everybody's sunk or all ammo has been expended! Contact a club member for battle pond directions. Refer to Battle Stations! for the next battle date, time, and location.
We've chosen to separate our club's governing rules into multiple documents. This has been done to make it easier to change or suspend certain less-critical rules, while protecting those rules that should be difficult to alter. We think that this gives us a good degree of flexibility to stage games as we see fit, while we can still ensure that visitors' ships and equipment is compatible with us and our equipment is compatible with other clubs. Rules are organized into logical documents, which are arranged a little differently from the all-encompassing rule documents that some clubs use. Rest assured, however, that all of the appropriate "standard" rules are in there, and this organization makes it very easy to refer to specific rules once you understand how it's all laid out.
Bylaws of the North Texas Battle Group contain the body of rules governing the operation of the club itself. Rules regarding the construction of ships and their operation are deliberately omitted from this rule-set. Bylaws function as the "Constitution", and set down the framework in which all other rule-sets exist. This is the most difficult rule-set to change.
Rules of Construction contain the rules for building and fitting out ships and other equipment used in games. Rules for operating the equipment is deliberately left out of this rule-set. This rule-set is the second-most difficult to modify, to protect captains from having their ships suddenly declared illegal, and also to help make sure that our ships are compatible with everybody else's.
Rules of Combat contain the rules for operating ships and other equipment, such equipment having been constructed according to the Rules of Construction . This rule-set is the easiest to change, to allow flexibility in the design of games. Sections may even be temporarily suspended, as long as safety is not compromised.
Technical Appendix contains reference tables used by the other sections. Although most of these tables will be familiar, some of them have been consolidated to make it easier to determine the correct parameters for a variety of related data. For example, the gun table includes caliber and rate-of-fire data together, instead of presenting it in separate tables.

Club administration may make policies to consistently deal with various circumstances not covered by the rules. The following policies are in effect:
Inclement Weather Policy - Events are not cancelled just because there is a potential for a little personal discomfort. However, circumstances that might affect personal safety or cause damage or loss of equipment are another matter. Individual participants need to make their own decisions whether or not to attend events that are not cancelled based on their own expectations of personal comfort.
Dues Policy - Annual dues and per-battle fees are charged to members and guests attending North Texas Battle Group events.
Fund Appropriation and Accounting Policy - Policy regarding the appropriation and management of club funds.

We've put together a brochure to hand out or mail to interested individuals, leave at hobby shops, etc. to promote our club and the Big Gun R/C warship combat hobby. If any club would like to use ours as a basis for a similar project, feel free. The brochure is a PDF document, and may be downloaded from the following link. Note: The brochure is formatted for a Canon BJC-4300 printer; other printers may trim at the margins. If you find that you're losing letters at the end of a line, try adjusting the margin.
