The Ten Commandments
...Of Safe R/C Warship Combat
by Donny Ciccimaro
I. God gave thee two eyes with which to see the world. God also made goggles for R/C warship combat to protect thy eyes. Thou shall wear such goggles whenever thou playest or when guns are hot. Thou shall clean and maintain thy goggles in the ways and manners prescribed by the manufacturer. Thou shall make certain that thou NEVER removes or raises or lifts thy goggles when guns are hot or anywhere there can be guns fired.
II. God, in His infinite wisdom, created safety switches for electrical power and CO 2 and used to prevent thy putting out the eyes of thy fellow players. Thou shalt use such safety switches when not on the pond.
III. Thou shalt not allow gun pressure to exceed 140 psi. Thou shall check thy gun's pressure periodically throughout the year to make certain that 140 psi or LESS is achieved. Do this and thy days on thy pond will be long and victorious.
IV. God created the gasses of carbon dioxide, and taught men how to compress them. In His infinite wisdom he understands them. If thou does NOT understand them, thou should not fill or attempt to fill thy own gas bottles, nor shall thou allow them to be filled by one who is not wise in these ways. Once filled, thou shall keep thy bottles out of the sun. Thou shall never fill beyond their rated capacity and thy burst disk on the bottle should always be a singular one, designed for the bottle.
V. Thou shall keep all safety features on thine ship in place and working. Thou shalt not interfere with thy safety switches. Those who do so have a special place in Hades reserved for them.
VI. Thou shalt not customize, nor modify thy guns by thyself unless thou understands clearly what is being done and how it is to be done safely. Neither shalt thou put any accessories on thy gun except that such accessories or parts have the blessing and approval of thy gun's builder. If thou has doubts, call them. If thou has work done on thy gun thou shall allow a trained person to do such work.
VII. When removing thy gas bottle from thy gun thou shall look at the bottle while disengaging it. This is done so thou can see that the valve is not twisting out of the bottle, which could result in the horrors of R/C warship combat called rockets which do much unholy damage to faces and other body parts.
VIII. When thou workest on thy ships gun thou shall disconnect the bottle and fire several clearing shots that thou might be certain there is no air anywhere in thy guns. Likewise thou shalt NEVER look down the barrels when the power source is attached. Thine eyes will greatly appreciate this action.
IX. God created the water on which we play on, which happens to be at a public park/ pond. If thou operates an armed ship, thou must have a valid North American Model Boat Association (NAMBA) or a valid Academy of Model Aeronautics (AMA) membership card for thou to have insurance protection. Insurance is a must for play so that thy days may be long on the pond.
X. When thou firest directly at an opponent thou shall not have positive elevation on thy guns. Thou shall not take pleasure in shooting innocent spectators, water fowl or automobile windshields. When thou firest, thou shall not shoot excessively faster than the rate of fire and thou shall cease such firing when thy opponent surrenders.
